Through the second reading of Southans writing I feel like I had more of an understanding of the points he was trying to make. Re-reading also improved my understanding of the philosophical part of what he was saying. The first time through I had completely missed what he was saying about the child drowning in a small pool. He was actually talking about how just because there are people across the globe that we don’t necessarily see it doesn’t mean that they are not there and don’t deserve our help, or in Southans opinion our money.
